Billionaire entrepreneur and X owner Elon Musk announced late on Thursday that he would attend former President Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday — just short of three months after Trump was shot during a July 13 rally in the same location.
Trump had previously announced his intention to return to Butler — and to pay tribute to firefighter Corey Comperatore, who was shot and killed that day while trying to shield his family from gunfire — and shared a photo on Thursday as a reminder.
“BUTLER ON SATURDAY — HISTORIC!” Trump posted in all caps, adding a photo from just after the shooting that showed him standing on the stage — despite the efforts of Secret Service agents to rush him away — with his fist raised high and blood streaked across his face.
A short time later, Musk also shared Trump’s post, adding, “I will be there to support!”
“Oh my gosh. This is a game changer. See you there — we will be registering everyone to vote,” GOP activist Scott Presler commented.
