During a recent appearance on CNN’s State of the Union, vice presidential candidate JD Vance was praised for how he handled himself amid the apparent hostility from anchor Dana Bash. At one point, Vance had enough of Bash interrupting him while attempting to answer her question, to which he called her out live on air.
“Dana, would you like to ask me questions and then let me answer them? Or would you like to debate me on these topics?” Vance said before calling out the much different treatment that Harris and Walz received when Bash interviewed them. “I noticed that when you had Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, you gave them multiple-choice answers to the questions that you asked and you allowed them to answer the questions,” he added.
Continuing, Vance asked that she cease interrupting and contesting his comments to allow him to give complete answers. “I’m happy to be here to talk about policy, but if you’re going to interrupt me every single time that I open my mouth, then why am I even doing this, so please ask a question, and I’d ask you to be polite enough to let me answer it,” he said.
Subsequently, users on social media praised Vance shutting down Bash and calling out her bias in a professional, yet confident manner. Conservative activist Benny Johnson said, “JD Vance ENDS Dana Bash’s Career LIVE on CNN.” User Grumblings Media commented,“This is how you expose the mainstream media. Trump’s blunt and after a while it’s easy to mock that but when you approach as @JDVance does, you get the point across easily and without question,”
“Is anyone seeing this? This is the way someone should respond. Not with over the top theatrics or put downs. Just calling out the obvious bias in a rational and deliberate manner,” another said, applauding Vance’s maneuvering of the situation. “@JDVance thank you for calling out the bias and unfair treatment by @DanaBashCNN and MSM! I project that this type of journalism will be dead in the next 5 years as the generations coming up are smarter than buying into this type of manipulation,” another user said.
